Effective from 25 September 2026.
These Terms and Conditions are also available in Czech at www.petiteprovence.cz/obchodni-podminky/; this English text is a translation of the Czech original. If there is any difference between the two, the Czech text prevails (clause 2.3).
1.1 The online shop at www.petiteprovence.cz (the “shop”) is operated by Petite Provence s.r.o., Company ID No. (IČO) 17167051, with its registered office at Třebohostická 3069/14, Strašnice, 100 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, Insert 367635 (“we”, “us”). We are the seller. We are not registered for VAT.
1.2 Contact details: email info@petiteprovence.cz, telephone +420 212 248 480 (working days, 9:00-17:00), Czech data box (datová schránka) ID i7uaf3v. Address for correspondence, returns and complaints: Petite Provence s.r.o., Třebohostická 3069/14, 100 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic. We reply to emails and messages within 2 working days. In these Terms, “working day” means Monday to Friday, excluding Czech public holidays.
1.3 Collecting an order in person, returning goods in person and handing over goods for a complaint in person are possible only by prior arrangement, by email or telephone. Parcels delivered by post or courier are accepted at the above address by reception on working days.
1.4 These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) set out the rights and obligations between us and you as the buyer when you shop with us. They form an integral part of every purchase contract. Anything agreed differently in a specific purchase contract takes precedence over these Terms.
2.1 You are a consumer if you are buying outside the scope of your business or profession. Consumers benefit from these Terms in full, including the right to withdraw from the contract (Article 7) and the statutory rights in respect of faulty goods (Articles 8 and 9).
2.2 You are a business customer if you are buying in the course of your business. If you enter a company ID number (IČO) in your order, we will treat you as a business customer. For business customers, these Terms apply with the differences set out in Article 10.
2.3 Language of the contract. The purchase contract may be concluded in Czech or in English, depending on the language version of the shop in which you place your order. These Terms are published in both languages; if there is any difference between them, the Czech text prevails.
3.1 We sell decorative pieces and home accessories that we make by hand ourselves in a small workshop in Prague. Every piece is an original. The description, dimensions and photographs shown with each product form part of the agreed characteristics of the goods.
3.2 Agreed characteristics of handmade goods. By placing an order you agree with us that individual pieces may differ from the photographs, and from one another, in the following respects, and that these differences are not defects:
3.3 Colours may look different on your screen from how they look in reality. The photographs show specific pieces we have made; we will make your piece in the same design, subject to the variations described in clause 3.2.
3.4 Intended use. Unless the product page says otherwise, our pieces are intended for indoor use and must be protected from damp, frost and prolonged direct sunlight. They are not toys. Use only LED candles in lanterns and wooden decorations, never an open flame. Safety information is given on every product page.
3.5 Prices are stated in Czech crowns (CZK) and are final. We are not registered for VAT, so our prices do not include VAT and we do not add it. The only amounts added to the price of the goods are the delivery charge and, where applicable, the cash-on-delivery fee under Articles 5 and 6, both of which you will see in your basket before you submit your order.
3.6 Obvious errors. If a product is listed with an obviously incorrect price (for example, with a digit missing) or an obviously incorrect description, we are not obliged to supply it at that price. In that case we will let you know without delay, withdraw from the contract and refund everything you have paid.
3.7 Discounts. Where we advertise a price reduction, the original price shown is the lowest price at which we offered the goods in the 30 days before the reduction. If the goods have been on sale for less than 30 days, we show the lowest price since we first offered them; if we increase a reduction in stages, we show the lowest price in the 30 days before the first reduction (Section 12a of the Consumer Protection Act). Discount codes cannot be combined with one another unless we state otherwise for a particular code.
3.8 Availability. “In stock” means that we dispatch the goods within 2 working days of receiving your payment or, for cash on delivery, of confirming your order. If dispatch takes longer at certain times of the year (for example, before Christmas), we say so on the product page or in the basket before you submit your order.
3.9 Gallery. The pieces in the “Gallery” section are examples of our past work; we no longer make them and they cannot be ordered. We may be able to make something similar for you as a custom order under clause 4.8.
4.1 To order, add the goods to your basket, choose a delivery and payment method, fill in your details and submit the order by clicking the “Order with obligation to pay” button. You can check and correct all your details before submitting. By submitting the order you undertake to pay the price of the goods and the delivery charge.
4.2 The purchase contract is concluded when we deliver an email to you confirming that we have received your order. This email includes a copy of these Terms. We keep the order and the contract in electronic form and will send them to you on request.
4.3 You can buy without registering. If you create a user account, keep your login details safe. We may close an account if it has not been used for more than 3 years or if you breach these Terms.
4.4 We may withdraw from a concluded contract if (a) we cannot make or deliver the goods for reasons beyond our control, such as unavailability of materials or damage to the goods before dispatch; (b) there is an obvious error as described in clause 3.6; or (c) we have reasonable grounds to suspect that payment details are being misused. If you choose cash on delivery and have in the past neither collected a cash-on-delivery parcel from us nor paid the costs under clause 6.8, we may make dispatch conditional on payment in advance. We will ask you for the payment by email; the dispatch time under clauses 3.8 and 6.3 then runs from the day the payment is credited, and we will withdraw from the contract only if the payment is not credited within 5 working days. We always notify you of a withdrawal by email and refund everything you have paid within 7 days.
4.5 You can cancel your order at any time before it is dispatched, with no penalty of any kind; just email or call us. Once the order has been dispatched, please follow Article 7.
4.6 Gifts. We include an LED tealight with every lantern as a gift, and we may add a gift to other orders too. Lanterns are sold without a candle; the gift is not part of the purchase contract or of the purchase price. The gift is given under a separate gift agreement subject to a condition subsequent: if you withdraw from the purchase contract, the gift agreement ends and you return the gift to us together with the goods. The statutory rights in respect of faulty goods under Article 8 do not apply to gifts. This does not affect liability for damage caused by a defective product or our obligations under product safety legislation. Batteries supplied with a gift are consumables.
4.7 Add-on orders. If you think of something else you would like after submitting your order, you can place an add-on order at any time before the original order is dispatched: at the checkout, choose the delivery method “Add to existing order” (CZK 0) and enter the number of your original order in the order notes. We will send both orders in one parcel. An add-on order is a separate purchase contract. If the original order has already been dispatched, the order number is missing or the orders cannot be combined, we will withdraw from the add-on order, refund your payment and offer you a standard order with delivery.
4.8 Custom orders. If you contact us by email, we will make goods to your requirements (a different colour, size, text or motif). The contract is concluded when you confirm by email the price and delivery date we have sent you. We ask for a deposit of 50 % of the price; the balance is payable before dispatch. Goods made to your specifications or personalised for you cannot be returned under the right of withdrawal in Article 7 (Section 1837(d) of the Civil Code); your rights in respect of faulty goods are not affected. If you cancel a custom order after we have started making it, we may keep from the deposit an amount corresponding to the costs we can show we have incurred up to that point.
4.9 Gift vouchers. We send electronic gift vouchers by email to the address given in the order. A voucher is valid for 12 months from purchase, can be redeemed against our entire range including reduced-price goods, and can be combined with a discount code. Any unused balance remains available until the voucher expires. A voucher cannot be exchanged for cash; once it has expired, it can no longer be redeemed or refunded. You may withdraw from the purchase of an unused voucher under Article 7. If you withdraw from a contract for goods paid for with a voucher, we refund the corresponding amount by issuing a new voucher, valid at least until the expiry date of the original voucher and in any event for at least 3 months from the date it is issued.
5.1 We offer the following payment methods:
| Payment method | Fee | When the payment is complete |
|---|---|---|
| Debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) | free | immediately, once the payment is authorised |
| Apple Pay, Google Pay | free | immediately |
| Klarna: Pay now or Pay in 3 instalments | free | immediately, once Klarna approves the payment |
| Bank transfer to our account at Fio banka | free | when the money is credited to our account |
| Cryptocurrency: BTC, BTC Lightning, LTC, XMR, USDT (Ethereum network) | free; you pay the network fee | when the network confirms the transaction |
| Cash on delivery (home delivery only) | CZK 49 | when you receive the parcel |
5.2 Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. You enter your card details directly on the secure payment gateway; we never see or store them. Card payments are protected by 3-D Secure authentication.
5.3 Klarna. “Pay now” and “Pay in 3 instalments” are provided by Klarna Bank AB (publ) under Klarna’s own terms, which are shown to you before you confirm the payment; the instalment plan is Klarna’s, not ours. Klarna charges no interest or fees if you pay on time; if you fall behind, Klarna’s terms apply. Approval is at Klarna’s discretion. You pay the instalments to Klarna; as far as we are concerned, the goods are paid for the moment Klarna approves the payment. If you withdraw from the contract, we refund the payment through Klarna, which adjusts your instalment plan. Klarna is available only to consumers aged 18 or over.
5.4 Bank transfer. We show the payment details, including a QR code, as soon as you complete your order, and we also send them by email. Account number: 2202217119/2010 (Fio banka); use your order number as the variable symbol (payment reference). Always check that the account number in the email matches the one shown on our website. If the payment has not been credited within 5 working days of the order, we may withdraw from the contract; we will send you a reminder first.
5.5 Cash on delivery. Cash on delivery is available only for delivery to your address (PPL courier or Czech Post Balíkovna home delivery) and carries a fee of CZK 49. You pay the courier when you receive the parcel. Cash on delivery is not available at pick-up points or parcel lockers.
5.6 We dispatch goods once payment has been received or, for cash on delivery, once the order has been confirmed, unless we proceed under clause 4.4. We send your invoice by email; it also serves as proof of purchase should you need to make a complaint about faulty goods.
5.7 Cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency payments are processed by our own self-hosted BTCPay Server, with no intermediary; you pay us directly. Once you complete your order, a payment page shows the amount in the chosen cryptocurrency, converted from the CZK price at the current exchange rate; this rate is valid for 15 minutes. The blockchain network fee is paid by the payer. The order is paid once the network confirms the transaction (immediately on Lightning; on other networks after the number of confirmations set by the payment server). A blockchain transaction is irreversible: it cannot be stopped, cancelled or reversed, even at your request. We cannot accept or trace a payment sent to a different address or on a different network from the one shown on the payment page; the payer is responsible for the correctness of the address, network and amount. A payment sent after the 15 minutes have expired, or for a different amount, may not be matched automatically; until you contact us and we locate the payment, the order is treated as unpaid. We refund any overpayment and ask you to settle any shortfall. All refunds (withdrawal, complaints, overpayments) are made in CZK by bank transfer, in the amount of the CZK price you paid; we do not take changes in the cryptocurrency exchange rate into account.
5.8 The goods remain our property until the purchase price has been paid in full.
6.1 We deliver within the Czech Republic. Delivery to any other country is possible only by prior arrangement by email; we will tell you the delivery cost in advance.
6.2 Delivery methods and charges:
| Delivery method | Price | Usual delivery time after dispatch |
|---|---|---|
| PPL Parcelshop, PPL Parcelbox, AlzaBox (pick-up points and parcel lockers) | CZK 89; free for orders of CZK 1,500 or more | next working day |
| PPL courier to your address | CZK 89 (+ CZK 49 for cash on delivery) | next working day |
| Czech Post – Balíkovna home delivery | CZK 109 (+ CZK 49 for cash on delivery) | 1-2 working days |
| Add to existing order (add-on order) | CZK 0 | together with the original order |
| Collection in person in Prague 10, by prior arrangement | free | as arranged |
The delivery charge is shown in your basket before you submit your order. Delivery times are the carrier’s usual times and are not guaranteed.
6.3 Dispatch. We dispatch goods marked “In stock” within 2 working days of payment or, for cash on delivery, of confirming your order. We email you when your order has been dispatched; the carrier sends you the tracking number and a delivery notification by SMS or email. Custom orders are dispatched by the agreed date.
6.4 Pick-up points and parcel lockers. Please collect your parcel within the carrier’s collection period (usually 7 days at a PPL Parcelshop, 3 days at a PPL Parcelbox and 2 days at an AlzaBox, counted from the day the parcel is deposited); after that, the parcel is returned to us. You collect the parcel with the PIN code sent to you by the carrier. Cash on delivery cannot be paid at parcel lockers.
6.5 The risk of damage to the goods passes to you when you take delivery of them. The goods are insured in transit.
6.6 When you take delivery, check that the packaging is undamaged. You may refuse a damaged parcel, or accept it and draw up a damage report with the carrier. If you discover damage to the goods only after unpacking, please tell us as soon as possible, ideally within 2 working days, with photographs of the goods and the packaging; this speeds things up. Reporting damage later does not limit your statutory rights in respect of faulty goods.
6.7 You are obliged to take delivery of the goods. If, at your request, we deliver the goods to a different place or at a different time from what was agreed, you bear the additional costs.
6.8 Uncollected parcels. If you do not take delivery of the parcel and it is returned to us, this does not count as a withdrawal from the contract. We will contact you and either agree to send the parcel again once you have paid the delivery charge, or withdraw from the contract. We are entitled to compensation for the costs we incurred because the parcel was not collected (the delivery charge for sending it and for its return) and may set these off against any refund due to you. Your right to withdraw from the contract under Article 7 is not affected; you bear the cost of returning an uncollected parcel in the same way as for any other return (clause 7.6).
7.1 As a consumer, you may withdraw from the purchase contract without giving any reason within 14 days of the day on which you, or a person you have nominated (other than the carrier), take delivery of the goods; if your order is delivered in several parcels, within 14 days of the day you take delivery of the last of them. You may also withdraw at any time before you take delivery of the goods.
7.2 The 14-day period is there so that you can examine the goods just as you could in a physical shop. You are liable only for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
7.3 How to withdraw. Send us a clear statement that you are withdrawing from the contract, ideally by email to info@petiteprovence.cz or by letter to the address in clause 1.2. You may use the model form in Annex 1, but you do not have to. Please include your order number and the bank account to which we should send the refund. We will confirm receipt of your withdrawal by email without undue delay. The deadline is met if you send your withdrawal on the last day of the period.
7.4 Returning the goods. Send the goods to us, or hand them over by prior arrangement, at Petite Provence s.r.o., Třebohostická 3069/14, 100 00 Prague 10, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you withdraw. Pack the goods so that they cannot be damaged in transit, ideally in the original packaging, and enclose the gift under clause 4.6 if one was included in your parcel, together with your order number. We do not accept parcels sent cash on delivery.
7.5 Refunds. Within 7 days of the day we receive the returned goods or you provide proof that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier, we will refund the price of the goods and the delivery charge you paid. We refund delivery up to the cost of the cheapest delivery method we offer; collection in person does not count as a delivery method. We refund using the same payment method you used, or to a bank account you give us; cryptocurrency payments are refunded in CZK by bank transfer (clause 5.7) and voucher payments by issuing a new voucher (clause 4.9). If you withdraw from only part of an order, we do not refund the delivery charge, because the delivery was made for the goods you are keeping. We may set off any compensation for a reduction in value under clause 7.2 against the refund; we will explain our reasons to you.
7.6 You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. The goods can be returned by ordinary parcel post. If the goods are faulty, we bear the cost (Article 9).
7.7 The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or personalised for you (custom orders, personalisation with text or a name), or to a gift voucher that you have already redeemed.
8.1 We are responsible for ensuring that the goods are free from defects when you take delivery of them. This means that the goods correspond to the agreed description, type, quantity, quality and other agreed characteristics, including those described in clause 3.2; that they are fit for the purpose for which goods of this kind are usually used; that they have the usual characteristics of goods of the same kind that you can reasonably expect; and that they come with the accessories and instructions you can reasonably expect.
8.2 You may notify us of a defect within 2 years of taking delivery of the goods. If a defect appears within 1 year of delivery, the goods are presumed to have been defective when you took delivery of them, unless the nature of the goods or of the defect rules this out. The period for notifying defects does not run for any time during which you cannot use the goods because of a defect you have rightly notified to us.
8.3 The characteristics of handmade goods described in clause 3.2 are not defects, nor is any other characteristic that we specifically drew to your attention on the product page before you bought and that you expressly accepted when ordering. Wear and tear from normal use is not a defect either. You have no rights in respect of a defect you caused yourself, for example by careless handling, unsuitable cleaning, exposing indoor pieces to damp, frost or sunlight, using an open flame in lanterns or wooden decorations, or mechanical damage after delivery.
8.4 If the goods have a defect, you may ask us to remedy it, choosing between delivery of a new item without the defect and repair. We may choose the other remedy if the one you have chosen is impossible or disproportionately expensive. We will remedy the defect within a reasonable time after you notify us, and no later than the deadline in Article 9, at our own expense.
8.5 You may ask for a reasonable price reduction or withdraw from the contract if (a) we refuse to remedy the defect or fail to do so in time and properly; (b) the defect recurs; (c) the defect amounts to a material breach of contract; or (d) it is clear from our statement or from the circumstances that we will not remedy the defect within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience to you. You cannot withdraw from the contract if the defect is insignificant.
8.6 Going beyond what the law requires: if we replace faulty goods with a new item, a new two-year period for notifying defects runs for the new item from the day you take delivery of it.
8.7 We do not offer a commercial guarantee over and above your statutory rights unless stated otherwise for a particular product. The statutory rights in respect of faulty goods do not apply to gifts under clause 4.6; this does not affect liability for damage caused by a defective product.
9.1 To make a complaint, email us at info@petiteprovence.cz (the quickest way), write to the address in clause 1.2, or hand the goods over in person by prior arrangement. You may use the form in Annex 2. Please give your order or invoice number, a description of the defect, photographs of the defect and of the whole piece, and tell us how you would like the complaint resolved (repair, replacement, price reduction or withdrawal from the contract). If you ask for repair or replacement and one of the situations in clause 8.5 arises, you may instead ask for a reasonable price reduction or withdraw from the contract.
9.2 Send the goods to us, or hand them over by prior arrangement, at the address in clause 1.2, clean, complete and packed so that they cannot be damaged in transit. For small pieces, photographs are often enough and we resolve the complaint with a replacement or a refund without you having to send anything back; we agree the details with you by email. We do not accept parcels sent cash on delivery.
9.3 We confirm receipt of your complaint by email, stating the date it was made, what it concerns, how you have asked for it to be resolved, and your contact details.
9.4 We decide on a complaint without undue delay, usually within 3 working days; if an expert assessment is needed, we let you know within that time. We resolve the complaint, including remedying the defect, and inform you, usually within 14 days and in any event no later than 30 days after the complaint was made, unless we agree a longer period with you in writing. If we miss this deadline, you may withdraw from the contract or ask for a reasonable price reduction.
9.5 We give you written confirmation of the date and manner in which the complaint was resolved, including confirmation of any repair and how long it took, or written reasons if the complaint is rejected.
9.6 If your complaint is justified, we reimburse the costs you reasonably incurred, in particular the postage for sending the goods to us, up to the cost of the cheapest standard method. Please ask for reimbursement when you make the complaint or at any time afterwards, but no later than one month after the end of the period for notifying defects. We send repaired or replaced goods back to you at our expense.
9.7 Refunds under an accepted complaint (price reduction or withdrawal from the contract) are made within 7 days of resolving the complaint, in the same way as described in clause 7.5.
10.1 If you buy as a business customer (clause 2.2), Articles 7 to 9 do not apply to you, nor do any provisions of these Terms or of the law that are intended only for consumers. Your rights in respect of faulty goods are governed by Sections 2099 to 2117 of the Civil Code, with the following differences:
10.2 Our liability for damage arising from any one order is limited to the price of the goods in that order; this limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
10.3 You may cancel your order at any time before it is dispatched. Failing to take delivery of a parcel is a breach of contract; we are entitled to compensation for our costs under clause 6.8.
10.4 The photographs and texts in the shop are our copyright work; you may use them to promote the resale of our goods only with our written consent.
11.1 How we process your personal data, what rights you have and who we share your data with (carriers, payment providers, our accountant and our email service provider) is described in our Privacy Policy at [DOPLNIT: URL anglické verze zásad – česká verze je na https://petiteprovence.cz/zasady-zpracovani-osobnich-udaju/]. To conclude and perform the contract we need your name, address, email address and telephone number; without them we cannot process your order.
11.2 We send marketing emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The data of customers who do not have a user account is used solely to process their order and to meet our legal obligations.
12.1 We prefer to settle any disagreement by mutual agreement; please write to us at info@petiteprovence.cz.
12.2 As a consumer, you have the right to out-of-court resolution of a consumer dispute arising from the purchase contract. The competent body is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Central Inspectorate – ADR Department, Gorazdova 1969/24, 120 00 Prague 2, email adr@coi.gov.cz, website https://adr.coi.gov.cz. The procedure is started at the consumer’s request, which must be submitted within 1 year of the day on which the consumer first asserted with us the right that is the subject of the dispute. Free advice and help with reaching an amicable settlement are also offered by the consumer organisation dTest (www.dtest.cz, www.vasestiznosti.cz).
12.3 Compliance with the Consumer Protection Act and product safety legislation is supervised by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority; trade licensing is supervised by the Prague 10 Municipal District Authority (Trade Licensing Department); and personal data protection is supervised by the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů).
12.4 Disputes are decided by the courts of the Czech Republic.
13.1 The purchase contract and these Terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, in particular Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, and Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection. If you are a consumer from another country, this does not deprive you of the protection given to you by those provisions of the law of your own country from which the parties cannot depart by agreement.
13.2 We are not bound by any code of conduct.
13.3 We may amend these Terms; the version in force on the day you submit your order applies to that order. The current version is always available at www.petiteprovence.cz/obchodni-podminky/ (Czech) and at [DOPLNIT: URL anglické stránky s podmínkami] (English), and we send it to you with the order confirmation.
13.4 If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid or ineffective, it is replaced by a provision whose meaning is as close to it as possible; the remaining provisions remain in force.
13.5 Annexes: Annex 1 – Information on the right of withdrawal and model withdrawal form; Annex 2 – Complaint form.
13.6 These Terms take effect on 25 September 2026 and replace the Terms and Conditions dated 23 May 2022.
Information on the right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest. Under our Terms and Conditions, we refund you within 7 days of that point, which is sooner than the law requires.
